Join the City of Kitchener, Spectrum, and OK2BME for a cycling event in Kitchener to help bring visibility to members of 2SLGBTQIA+ communities for Pride Month, and attention to cycling in Kitchener for Bike Month.

Join Porchlight Counselling and Addiction Services and the Idea Exchange for a free event open to everyone which will include a panel discussion featuring mental health professionals with a background supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and community leaders, followed by a Q & A - all focused on the specific mental health challenges 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals face and what resources exist or can be built in our community to support them.
Attendees will leave with ideas, tools, and resources for supporting their own mental health as well as the mental health of other 2SLGBTQIA+ members of the community.

One or our community partners have exciting news! Lutherwood announced it is changing its name to Starling Community Services as of Monday May 13, 2024.
The organization’s 15-year old tagline ‘Caring People. Strengthening Lives.’ remains. “Our staff members and clients see it as is a powerful statement that reflects who we are and what we do,” said John Colangeli, CEO of Lutherwood.

First Integrated Crisis Centre

A collaboration between Thresholds Homes and Supports, Canadian Mental Health Association, Waterloo Wellington, as well as other community partners will open its first integrated crisis centre this summer in Waterloo Region — at 298 Lawrence Ave. in Kitchener — to address the need for specialized care for those experiencing mental health and substance-use issues. Integrated Crisis Centres enhance recovery outcomes and provide an alternate destination for individuals in crisis other than the emergency department.
